'What a
book! This is a fulsome, edifying celebration of love...a grand, sinuous
romantic epiphany...undulations of love (partially) facilitated by the
spontaneity and marvels of modern science. It is a work nonpareil in African
Literature. Everything works here, including the lilting, illuminating
flashbacks, and the pristine exhilarating love in the clouds - literally! The
epistolary ambience also holds one in thrall. Mbulelo Mzamane, esteemed SA
literary icon always exhorted Africans to celebrate their loved ones,
their partners - here is a fruition of his vision! Additionally, Skietreker is
a renowned poet, and his deftness in this wise shimmers, and grips like a
tourniquet. This is a forthright, wholesome, comprehensive work; lambent,
fulminating, yet satisfying. This work is a must-read! Cynics, nay-sayers,
pessimists - pull yourselves up by your lugubrious bootstraps! This riveting,
coruscating classic on Love is for real! My personal felicitations...'

Exhilarating and wholesome...a pleasure to post this

DeleteA very welcome addition to the body of African Writing, unusual, as it is very much the truth - real life, magnified. No doubt, lifts the lid on extraordinary emotions of refined, literary-minded couple. Should be read widely around the world
ReplyDeleteThank you so much...
DeleteCongratulations, lady; congrats, gentleman. What a book this must be!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Tumi and Matebogo on their new book. I can say that love lives within these two gentle souls. Many believe that love doesn't exist anymore or is difficult to find your soul mate.
ReplyDeleteMy brother Skietreker is a good example that no one should lose hope in love and you can find love every where you go, despite race.
Thank you Prof Bolaji to give us a short brief about new anthology book of Tumi and Matebogo. And honestly, my brother Skietreker and I, know each other for sometime now and he encourages me too to continue to play a role in these literature industry.
I wish them success on their latest book!
Thank you Dr Thiba for the gentle reminder that the Love that we are always looking for is already in us. So when we love it is with a purpose...
DeleteThanks, Dr Thiba. It is good you mentioned the name of the protagonists. Tumi, the gentleman, is the celebrated poet known as Skietreker to the literary world.
ReplyDeleteThank you my great Chief...
DeleteSeems like a masterpiece on love. African love. I am so happy we can witness this during my lifetime (not that I am that old). Almost brings tears to one's eyes, who does not dream of real love and mutual respect?
ReplyDeleteThank you Lupna *Smiles*, We went for an interview at drum magazine and when we told our story it still felt like the first time.
DeleteTumi, and Mateboga - congratulations! How thrilling.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteThis is from us to you!
ReplyDeleteWe are so grateful for all your wonderful and beautiful comments. We humbly take them all in, we still have so much before us, in terms of witnessing how far and wide our book will turn every heart out there that's bleeding, and in dire need of the true love we have been so fortunate to have found in each other.
Thank you all for showing us love on this advent of our special book.
This is certainly refreshing. As a literary follower for years, I know our African writers hardly celebrate love, though some of them did love lust! (Sonne Dipoko for one) and see some of the lustful descriptions in Ayi Armah's great works too. As for the traditional women writers you read their great works and have to believe that a woman's lot in life is great suffering, pain. Nothing romantic. Like Buchi Emecheta, or even Sindiwe Magona. For the men, one might argue that they were more concerned with issues of colonialism in Africa, problems of modern societies etc. But the women? Even the great African woman writer, Dangarembga's latest novel, Mournable, still gives the impression that women can hardly have anything to smile about in real life. So we commend the author(s) of this new refreshing book. They are Africans like us. The gentleman has been writing since he was very young. We should remember that this book is true-life, not fiction. Good for them that they celebrate true love here. No wonder the ladies are excited!
ReplyDeleteMr Mokoena, what an amazing time be alive, we never thought that such kinda love still exists in todays society, According to what our own eyes have witnessed through the years, from close family to friends, it all seemed impossible to witness but the universe listened to our hardships of love and prayers of hope and today we celebrate a truestory that erupted from african soil, though our journeys are different love belongs to all of us, and we shall continue to spread the message of a blind kinda love so that the hearts who had given up on love will stand up and believe again because in this lifetime, everybody deserves a beautiful lovestory.
DeleteSomething to smile about. Congratulations.
